Isabella's 2nd Birthday Party

Well it has come and gone and the baby girl is officially 2. And yes, I will still refer to her as a baby.........probably for a long time to come. The birthday party this year was monkey themed and held at Acrosports, a gym in the area. I ordered all of her decorations from Etsy ........ I LOVE Etsy. The girl I ordered from did a great job and couldn't have been more happy with how it all turned out.
You can't have a monkey themed party without bananas.

We ordered her cupcakes from the Cake Lady in Friendswood. You can never go wrong with anything from the Cake Lady. DELICIOUS!!

This was the banner that came with her decorations from Etsy. I absolutely loved the colors!

The kiddos {big & little} had fun playing in the foam pit, sliding down the slide and jumping on the trampoline. Kenzie {Keke's} and Laura played in the foam pit too!

The kids loved this slide. They slid down and landed in foam pit. Don't worry there was always someone there to catch them!

Bella and "Corky" lovin' on each other. On a side not, My parents had all three grandkids spend the night Saturday night. Bella and Courtney slept with my mom. Bella woke up in the middle of the night and was so excited to see Courtney in the bed with her. She kept saying "Corky pway". Mom said Courtney never woke up but Bella stayed awake about and hour hoping she would. That child LOVES her cousins so much!

I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed sliding down that slide. It went pretty fast.

Kenzie playing on the trampoline.

Aunt Kay even found her way into the foam pit to catch Miss Lexi!

WHEEEEEE!

We finally got to meet Landry! It took a year but we finally did it. We were so excited the Gibsons were able to come down and enjoy the fun.

Landry is quite the climber.

My precious girl!

In the foam pit with Uncle Tim and Lexi.

Bella enjoyed climbing all over her daddy in the pit.

Courtney tried out the trapeze swing.

Ryan and his mama.

Cutie pie!

The kiddos got to play with the parachute. I remember this being my absolute favorite thing in PE when I was kid. To say Bella loved it would be an understatement. She squealed and had a great time!

Happy Birthday to my silly little monkey!

I got the kids monkey masks instead of party hats. Terry put this on Ryan and he quite moving. It was hilarious. We kept trying to call him to make him turn his head to look at us and it was like he was frozen. He would only move his eyes. Too funny.

Cousin Tiffany got in on the action with the monkey masks too!

I'm having a hard time believing that this child has been in our lives for 2 whole years.

We have her a little help blowing out her candle.

A monkey eating his banana.

Lexi chowed down on the cupcake. She knows Cake Lady when she tastes it!

Time to open presents. Bella got a lot of really cool stuff.

Can you say DIVA?!?!

Lexi Lou

The Gibsons!

Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate her birthday with us. Terry's family all drove in from Corsicana and Dallas and Tiffany drove in from Dallas as well. We are so thankful that they were all able to make the trip! We love ya'll!

Happy Birthday, Silly Monkey!

This is what a birthday girl looks like when she is asleep in her mommy and daddy's bed. This is where she ends up every morning because she gets lonely her room.

Daddy thought it would be a good idea to put her new "ride" on the bed with her. She woke up and VERY sleepily, the first thing out of her mouth was "ride".

Wild morning hair for her new ride.

She had to get in a little riding time before going to Nana's for the day. Nothing like a ride on your tricycle at 7:30 in the morning.

Dear Isabella,
Where do I even start? It seems like only yesterday you entered our lives but at the same time I have a hard time remembering what life was like before you. Sure I got more sleep and maybe we had a little more freedom. But I gladly trade those things for you. You are so funny and you know it. You giggle at yourself and watch to make sure we are giggling along with you. Of course we are because we think you are hilarious too. You can be running around like a wild child one minute and then decide you need a kiss or a hug the next. Your kisses are always wet and your hugs often result in you getting distracted by my hair. You like to play with my hair. You have this very high pitched girlie scream that you LOVE. We often tell you to stop. You do it anyway. You are talking like crazy. I couldn't even begin to list all of your words at this point. Some of your favorite things to say are "gonna gonna go owside", "gonna gonna go pool", "gonna gonna go slide", "gonna gonna go ride". For some reason you say gonna twice most times you say it. You are doing a fabulous job of following 2 step directions. I asked you to go get your shoes and put them away and you DID IT!! "I did it!!" you say. My favorite is when you ask for kiss or say "Come on, Mommy" when it's time for bed. You love your daddy so very much. I love to watch you with him. He is the best daddy. You have such a sweet spirit and a funny little personality.

I love you so much and with every passing day I think I love you more. We prayed for you for so long and now you have blessed us for 2 whole years. You made the heartache of trying to get you here worth it and better yet you have made it go away. I would go through it all over again for you, that's how much I love you.

Love, Mommy

Little Princess

Tuesday night Bella had her spring awards program. It was also pre-k graduation. I know that will be here sooner rather than later. I don't want to think about that. ANYWAY.....

Bella and Ryan didn't sit next to each other this time. They had about 3 kids between them. Their teachers brought them in and all the kids were suppose to stand up. Of ALL the kids Bella and Ryan sit down. The only two out of the group that did it and they weren't even sitting next to each other. How does that happen? So needless to say, I wasn't able to get any good pictures of them "performing" If You're Happy and You Know It. But they were still cute as buttons!

Bella spotted me and kept looking at at her teacher and pointing to me and saying "mommy". Notice she is now standing when she is suppose to be sitting. Figures.

She doesn't look to happy with the little dude next to her. I SO wish I knew what she was thinking.

They also did "character" awards. Bella was awarded the "little princess" award. What in the world is she doing at school? Obviously acting just like she does at home. My papa Griff always called me Miss Priss and I think Bella is well on her way of acquiring this nickname.

Bella loves Mrs. Alma. After her performance she was sitting with us and she spotted her in the back. She kept pointing to her and saying "Alma, Alma".

These two are BEST FRIENDS!

They love each other so much. Bella talks about "Ryry" ALL the time. On the weekends she wakes up talking about him.

Going in the a kiss!

And Bella licks him. That's how she gives kisses......

He was hugging her, not choking her.

"Unc Tim", "Issa", "Corky", and "Ryry"

We were nice and squinty eyed from the sun!

Nana and the babies.

Bella had her last day of school yesterday and will spend the next 3 weeks with Nana then will be home with me for the summer!! WOOHOO!!

Happy Mother's Day

Today I celebrated my second Mother's Day as a mommy. This little girl made me a mommy almost 2 years ago. It has been amazing being her mommy and I am so happy to have her around. She is so precious and wonderful and makes me laugh and smile all the time.

This morning while I was getting ready for church I hear her coming into the bedroom with Terry. "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" she was saying. She was caring a little box and Daddy was also carrying a little box. Daddy said, "Say, Happy". She said "Happy!". Daddy said, "Say, Mommy's". She said "Mommy's!". Daddy said, "say, Day". She said," Daaaaaay-nk You!" So she got a little confused and turned day into thank you. It was the sweetest thing. This is what I found in the boxes. I LOVE it!! I was totally surprised. I have wanted one of the these necklaces for a while. It says, "we love you". So perfect!

After church we headed over to Mom and Dad's to have lunch. We are not out to eat people on these holidays. Dad cooked amazing steaks.... I ate every bite of mine!! And we also had a good spread of veggies. Yummy! Tim, Alyssa and Ryan came over with too!

His little shirt says it all!!

I love this little girl more than words can say. She made my day today by being more of a mommy's girl than she normally is. She is normally a daddy's girl all the way. But today she was a mommy cuddlebug and I ate it up. She wanted to be held and during church she laid her head on my shoulder and patted me. It's possible that I had to try really hard to hold back the tears.
Ryan and Bella got to hang out and play. Notice what is in front on Bella....my iphone. She loves that thing.

He is pretty cute, that nephew of mine.

Alyssa also got some playtime in with the kiddos.

And Happy Mother's Day to my mama. You are AWESOME and I love you so much. I am so glad that you are my mom.

Mom and Dad! Ok....they are both AWESOME!!

After we came home we put Bella down for her nap and I decided to take advantage of a nap myself. Terry told me to go take my nap in our bed so he wouldn't wake me up. I slept for 3 whole hours. It was fantastic!! Best nap I have had in a couple of years. That was a great ending to my Mother's Day!!

Thanks to my family for making this such a great day!!

Happy Birthday to RYAN!!

The time has come that my precious nephew has turned 2. This only means that Bella is a few short days behind him. Last Sunday we met at the park to celebrate with Ryan. It was a beautiful day but unfortunately for Bella the slides were a little to hot. I was surprise she didn't get upset but she handled it well.

Bella and Lexi helped Ryan with his toys.

Big Sissy was a big help to Ryan too. Bella has taken to calling Courtney "Sissy" as well. She keeps talking about RyRy and Sissy. She spends alot of time with Ryan these days and loves him so much. She has actually talked about him all weekend and thinks that every white truck is RyRy's (my brother has a white truck).

Ryan got a really cool water table.

I love this look on his face. It is such a Ryan face.

I love this beautiful girl so much.

Lexi tried out Ryan's new shades.

His party theme was John Deere. So cute!!

The diva with her full attitude!

Lexi will be 2 in August!

The birthday boy anxious to dig into that cake.

Happy Birthday Ryan! We love you!

A Date to Prom

Saturday, after Terry became a triathlete, we headed down to Galveston. It's that prom time of year. Prom was at Moody Gardens and we decided to stay at the hotel. We headed on down there so that Bella could get some play time in at the pool. I couldn't believe Terry was still going strong but he was. We lined up my assistant principal's daughter to babysit for us so we could both go to prom. Maddie offered to take a picture of Terry and I and then we headed downstairs to see what all the kids were wearing. That's my favorite part, seeing all the dresses. Anything goes for prom these days. There are all kinds of dresses and I think that is so cool. From 9-10 I had to stand at the door with the other counselors and punch tickets. While there, a special ed student that works in the South campus counselor's office stood with us. He cheered for everyone that walked in the door so we cheered and in no time all the kids that were going in and out were also cheering. It was awesome!! We all danced and cheered at the door. I bet those kids had never been welcomed like that before. This little guy is so precious and entertaining and he likes pranks, a lot. You never know what he is going to do next. He is the sweetest thing. Plus there is a special place in my heart for special ed kiddos considering I worked with them all the years that I taught.

Terry ended up going back to the room early because he was tired. It's not like he did a triathlon or anything. I'm not sure what his problem was :). Unfortunately when I got to the room, I discovered that some crazy high schoolers were in the room next to us. Not cool. Luckily they settled down and we were able to sleep. I was not going to be happy if I had to get up and call downstairs because I didn't want to get out of bed. The phone on the night stand had to be unplugged because Bella had been using it earlier. I'm pretty sure she called someone.

My handsome prom date.

The next day we slept in and then headed down to the strand to eat lunch. We apparently brought a diva with us. I'm not sure how that happened.

the diva and her daddy.

We ate lunch and then walked around on the strand for a little bit. It's so nice to see that businesses are back up and running after Ike. As far as I can tell all the shops re-opened. I think some of them are new but each store front had a tenant so that's a good thing. I'm so glad we live so close to the island, there is so much character there.
