4 weeks
Bella is now 4 weeks old. Oh how time is flying by!!! She is lifting her head up quite a bit now. She seems to be getting longer. She is still changing everyday!!! We are working on tummy time....only a few minutes at a time!!!
Playhouse......Not so much!!!!
Sunday when we got to my parents house after church, this is what we found. A HUGE tree had fallen on the playhouse that the guys worked so hard on the previous weekend. It was truly heartbreaking. My dad was pretty devastated. He just kept walking around it and staring. They worked so hard and all that work was a mess after the tree got through with it. We are just thankful that it didn't happen while Courtney was playing on it or while anyone was working on it.

3 weeks old
Today Bella is 3 weeks old. She is really starting to be more alert when she is awake. She looks for Terry or I when we are speaking and aren't holding her. My Grammy was holding her at lunch today and I was sitting beside them, Bella heard me talking and about broke her neck trying to look over at me.
Sleeping has been hit or miss the past couple of weeks. Some nights she does awesome and others not so much. We know she is really asleep when the paci falls out of her mouth and she doesn't care. If it falls out and she starts whining, I know I am in for a long night.
I have discovered that she is not a fan of red lights while driving. She starts to scream, and I do mean SCREAM (I've never heard anything like it come from an infant) when the car is stopped or slowing because she knows it's going to stop. I'm starting to not like red lights myself!!!
Terry has had some "fun" experiences with poopie diapers. Let's just say he got poop on our bedspread and used 4 diapers to change one poopie diaper all in one night with two different poops. Ever so entertaining to hear him tell it!!
We went for her 2 week check up on Friday and she weighed a whopping 7lbs 1oz. She is now 20 inches long. She is in the 14th percentile for weight and 36th for length. The doctor is still worried about her weight gain so we have to go back again on Thursday for a weigh in. I think she is starting to gain a little more because her diapers aren't as big on her. BUT we will see.
I am still completely amazed that this is OUR child. Sometimes I just sit and stare at her. I have been pretty overwhelmed with emotion since we brought her home from the hospital. Bursting into tears is not uncommon for me. Not because I'm sad or depressed but because I still can't believe that we FINALLY have this little girl in our lives. It hit me like a on of bricks as I was sitting in the wheel chair with her in her car seat on my lap and Terry's truck came to pick us up at the hospital. It took everything I had to not fall apart right there. I did however lose it when we got in the truck. 7 years we waited for this little angel. I had honestly reserved myself to the fact that I would never be pregnant with my own child. So she is a little miracle to me. 3 weeks into her life, I'm still amazed by her. I have a feeling this amazement will continue for a long time.
Ok, enough sap. Here is a picture of her on her 3 week birthday!!

Playhouse
We spent the weekend over at my parents house while Terry, Dad and Tim built a playhouse for the grandkiddos. Bella and Ryan won't be using it for a while but Courtney is beside herself with excitement over it. The guys did a great job working on it.
While Mom and I were supervising, Courtney came running over and very seriously asked for some Kleenex and glue. Why might she need those two particular items you ask? Because she wanted her living room in the playhouse to be WHITE!!! Seriously, she is hilarious..

2 weeks old
Isabella is now 2 weeks old. She is already changing so much. She lost her umbilical cord last night so she got her first real bath tonight. No pictures of that as it was a 2 person job. Her poor little tummy has been hurting and I can't stand to see her upset. On Friday her weight was back up to 6lbs 14.5ozs so she is gaining a little bit of weight. We were supplementing her with formula but we stopped that because I think that is what was hurting her tummy. Here are a couple of pictures on her two week birthday!
