A Conversation with an (almost) 2 year old

"uh-oh"

Bella has begun this amazing habit of waking up at 11pm and deciding she needs to come to bed with us. Last night was no different, Terry and I were still up. We started hearing her moving around and knew what was coming. About 35 seconds later there was screaming. Lots of it. Terry went and got her. She got what she wanted. The conversation that followed is proof that she is in fact a toddler.

Me: Do you want to sleep with Daddy?
Bella: No.
Me: Do you want to sleep with Mommy?
Bella: No.
Me: Do you want to sleep with Gabby (our dog)?
Bella: No.
Me: Do you want to go back to bed?
Bella: No.
Me: Do you want to sleep in between us?
Bella: No.

She then pokes me rather roughly in the eye and laughs. She was asleep in between us within 5 minutes. We clearly need to work on the word "yes".
